Each Yardworks Artist Edition is a one-off collaboration with an urban artist from the Yardworks Festival in Glasgow.
Each artist created a custom 1.5m x 1.5m mural on our signature waxed canvas. Our expert craftspeople then carefully cut each mural and created completely unique, 1 of 1 limited edition bags.
THE ARTIST
‘Sure Signs’ was founded by Hana Lindsay – a signwriter/sign painter, gold leaf gilder and lettering artist in Glasgow, Scotland.
Sure Signs specialises in hand painted interior and exterior signage, mural work, gold leaf gilding and bespoke commissions for private clients.
Hana’s own bold designs incorporate bright colours, three dimensional forms and clean lines to make lettering lively and accessible.
After spending a few years working solo at Torrisdale Street Studios in the south side she met sign painter Rachel E Millar in 2021. Hana and Rachel then founded sign painting collective ‘Bungo Sign Co.’ in 2022, which is a studio space in the south side of Glasgow for both painters to work individually and collaboratively on larger projects.

THE MURAL
The canvas piece I created at Yardworks 2023 was painted using 1shot enamel paint. This is specialised hard wearing signwriting paint that I use on almost all of my signwriting work.
The piece was a very impromptu piece inspired by the typical Glasgow weather over the weekend and the impact it had on us outdoor artists! The downpours over the weekend ran through a lot of the artist's murals, leaving colourful painty streams across the ground of the Yard, which gave me the idea to paint the long flowing lines across the piece. My favourite colours are blue and yellow so I couldn't resist using my favourite colour combo!

These artists editions are intended as works of art. Each artist used their normal medium to create their mural, and while these pigments are extremely durable, they are not specifically designed for use on fabric. While our lifetime guarantee will apply to the workmanship on the bag itself, we cannot guarantee the longevity of the painted designs.
